Prometryn herbicide is a low-toxicity, selective systemic herbicide used to control annual grassy and broadleaf weeds. With acute oral LD50 values ranging from 3150 to 3750 mg/kg in rats and a dermal LD50 of over 10200 mg/kg in rabbits, it is safe for humans and animals when used as directed. Prometryn is also low in toxicity to birds and bees and has moderate toxicity to fish. Available in 50% and 80% wettable powder formulations, Prometryn is sparingly soluble in water but easily dissolves in organic solvents.
