Cyhalofop-butyl is a selective herbicide commonly used in agriculture to control grassy weeds in rice paddies, wheat fields, and other cereal crops.

It belongs to the aryloxyphenoxypropionate herbicide group and works by inhibiting acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase), an enzyme crucial for fatty acid biosynthesis in plants.

This inhibition disrupts lipid production, leading to the death of grassy weeds while leaving the crop unharmed.
