Fluopyram is a long-lasting fungicide suitable for many crops, offering flexible application and effective disease control.
Effect of Fluopyram:
Fluopyram precisely targets and disrupts the “energy factories” — mitochondria — within fungi, blocking their energy production process. Fungal spore germination, mycelial growth, and disease development all rely heavily on sufficient energy supply. Once this energy pathway is interrupted, fungal cells quickly lose vitality and growth ability, preventing infection and spread on crops. As a result, Fluopyram delivers strong and long-lasting fungicidal activity by cutting off the fungus’s energy source at its core.
Fluopyram Mode of Action:
Fluopyram is a broad-spectrum fungicide with a unique mode of action targeting the mitochondria of fungal cells. By disrupting energy production, it prevents fungal spores from germinating, inhibits hyphal growth, and blocks infection of crops. This mode of action provides strong preventive, curative, and spore-inhibiting effects. In addition, Fluopyram shows no cross-resistance with most other fungicide groups, making it an excellent choice for integrated disease management and resistance management programs.
Residual Effectiveness:
Fluopyram provides outstanding long-lasting residual protection, with performance varying by application method. When applied as a foliar spray, it adheres well to leaf surfaces, penetrates plant tissues efficiently, and becomes rainfast within 1–2 hours, offering 10–14 days of reliable control against diseases such as powdery mildew and Botrytis. When used as a soil or seed treatment, it forms a stable protective zone around the root system, delivering extended control of soil-borne fungal diseases for 30–80 days. Its low mobility in soil enhances environmental safety and helps reduce application frequency for growers.

Safety and Compatibility:
Fluopyram features excellent safety and compatibility. It is a low-toxicity fungicide that is safe for a wide range of crops when used at recommended dosages and poses minimal risk to humans, livestock, and beneficial organisms such as bees when applied correctly. It is also compatible with most commonly used fungicides, insecticides, and agricultural adjuvants. However, it should not be mixed with strongly alkaline products, as this may reduce its efficacy.
Application Flexibility:
Fluopyram offers excellent application flexibility, with multiple practical methods including foliar spraying, seed treatment, soil drenching, and furrow application to suit different crops and growth stages. Foliar application is especially effective for controlling fungal diseases such as powdery mildew and gray mold on fruits and vegetables, while seed treatment and soil application help manage soil-borne fungal diseases that affect root health. This versatility allows Fluopyram to be widely used on more than 70 crops, including grapes, wheat, soybeans, and tomatoes, making it well suited to diverse farming systems while reducing the need for multiple pesticide products.
