Pendimethalin 330 g/L EC
Product Introduction
Pendimethalin (CAS No. 40487-42-1) is a selective pre-emergence soil-applied herbicide. The technical material appears as an orange crystalline solid, with a melting point of 54–58 °C. It exhibits very low solubility in water (0.3 mg/L at 20 °C) and is readily soluble in most organic solvents. The technical grade purity can reach 90%.
Mode of Action
It does not prevent weed seeds from germinating,instead, it acts during the early stages of weed germination and growth. When the young shoots, stems, or roots of weeds come into contact with and absorb the herbicide in the soil, the product inhibits cell division at the growing points, preventing normal growth and development.
In broadleaf weeds, absorption mainly occurs through the hypocotyl;
In grass weeds, absorption mainly occurs through the emerging shoots.
As a result, the growth of young shoots and secondary roots is strongly suppressed, causing the weeds to fail to emerge from the soil or to die shortly after emergence, thereby achieving effective weed control.
Weed control
It effectively controls annual grassy and broadleaf weeds such as Digitaria sanguinalis, Setaria viridis, Poa annua, Alopecurus aequalis, Eleusine indica, Chenopodium album, Eclipta prostrata, Solanum nigrum, Chenopodium spp.and Amaranthus spp. In addition, it exhibits strong inhibitory activity against the early growth of Cuscuta seedlings. Pendimethalin also effectively suppresses axillary bud development in tobacco, thereby increasing cured leaf yield and improving leaf quality.

Precautions
- It is not recommended to apply this product before seedling emergence in sandy soils with low organic matter content.
- Pendimethalin is highly toxic to fish,use with caution and avoid contaminating water sources and fish ponds.
- When applying the herbicide to corn and soybean fields, the sowing depth should be 3-6 cm, and the seeds should be covered with soil to prevent contact with the herbicide.
- When treating the soil, applying the herbicide before irrigation can increase the soil’s adsorption of the herbicide and reduce phytotoxicity. In fields with a high density of broadleaf weeds, consider mixing it with other herbicides.
