Ethephon is a plant growth regulator. It can produce physiological effects such as enhancing latex secretion, accelerating maturation, shedding and aging, and promoting flowering. Under certain conditions, ethephon not only releases ethylene by itself. It can also induce plants to produce ethylene.

How to use ethephon?

It is mainly applied via foliar spray. Especially on tobacco plants in early to mid-growth stages. Usually on a sunny day. The recommended dosage is about 62.5-87.5 ml of 40% it aqueous solution per mu, mixed with 50-100 grams of water and sprayed. After about 3-4 days, the tobacco plant will gradually change from green to yellow, similar to natural ripening.
