Functional characteristics of imazamox

Imazamox is an imidazolinone herbicide variety. Absorbed, transmitted and accumulated in the meristem through leaves. Inhibits the activity of AHAS, causing the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids—valine, leucine, and isoleucine to stop. Interfere with DNA synthesis, cell mitosis and plant growth. Eventually the plant dies.

Imazamox root absorption is only 21%, so imazamox is suitable for post-emergence stem and leaf treatment in soybean fields, and pre-emergence use is not recommended. Symptoms of weed damage are: the first growth points and internodal meristems of grass weeds turn yellow, turn brown and become necrotic. The heart leaves first turn yellow-purple and die. Annual grass weeds are in the 3- to 5-leaf stage and require 5 to 10 days to die. The veins of broadleaf weeds turn brown first, the leaves shrink, the inner leaves wither, and they usually die in 5 to 10 days.

Precautions

1. If the soybean encounters low temperature below 10℃ within 2 days after Imazamox application, soybean’s ability to metabolize Imazamox will be reduced, which may easily cause phytotoxicity. Imazamox should not be used in low-lying areas in the north and cool mountainous areas.
2. Synergists YZ-901 and AA-921 cannot be added when spraying Imazamox.
3. Be sure to spray Imazamox evenly.
